Mati Polli shall continue as the Chairman of the RMK Supervisory Board 13.06

Today, the new RMK Supervisory Board gathered for the first time and elected Mati Polli, Member of the Management Board of the Estonian Forest Industries Association, to continue as its chairman.

Andres Talijärv, Vice Chancellor at the Ministry of the Environment, was elected as the Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board.
Tõnis Kõiv, Member of the Riigikogu, shall continue as the Chairman of the Internal Audit Division of RMK, Ivar Sikk, Head of the State Budget Department at the Ministry of Finance, and Urmas Hallika, Head of the Internal Audit Division at the Ministry of the Environment, were appointed as committee members.

Today, the Government confirmed the members of the RMK Supervisory Board for three years, due to the termination of the authorities of the previous members.

The following people shall continue in the RMK Supervisory Board: Mati Polli, Member of the Management Board of the Estonian Forest Industries Association, Andres Talijärv, Vice Chancellor at the Ministry of the Environment, Liisa-Ly Pakosta, Tõnis Kõiv, and Jaanus Tamkivi, Members of the Riigikogu, and Ivar Sikk, Head of the State Budget Department at the Ministry of Finance.

The Government confirmed the following new members to the RMK Supervisory Board: Urmas Hallika, Head of the Internal Audit Division at the Ministry of the Environment, Tarmo Kruusimäe, Counsellor at the Estonian Youth Work Centre, and Priit Värk, Permanent Secretary at the Estonian Owners Confederation.

RMK is a profit-making state agency established under the Forestry Act, aimed at sustainable and efficient management of the state forest. RMK grows reforestation material, organises forest works, executes practical nature protection works and is engaged in forest and timber sales. Additionally, RMK establishes opportunities for nature walking and forest holidays in recreation areas, in Estonia’s five national parks and almost 40 other protected areas, and shapes nature awareness. RMK manages 38% of Estonia’s forests.
